The Best and Only Reporting in Valorn.Issue 12

Meteor Showers Light up the Sky

Old Ryndall Repopulated

An intense meteor shower yesterday sparked a fury of speculation that some strange event was occurring in Valorn. Many shouted, "DEMON RAID!" Others pondered the gods were bored. Some feared the sky was falling, while the more simple-minded Valornians looked up into the sky to "oooo" and "ahhh."

Meanwhile the High Enchanters made their long awaited return to the abandoned city of Ryndall.

Many will recall an infestation of Demons sent the townspeople scurrying off to a remote location in the desert sometime ago, but brave adventurers vanquished the lurking Demon forces allowing the citizens of Ryndall to return to their homes.

Why did it take them so long to return? Valornian Health Inspector Fleur refused to allow anyone back in the city until all Demon waste was disposed of and the area was properly fumigated– though one wonders why then there is still a rat problem in the Dark Alleyway.

High Enchanter Brownin seems to be confused by the move continuing to beg customers to "Please support the poor homeless souls of Ryndall..." Meanwhile, Clancy the Smithy boasts that the temporary move caused by the Demons actually brought the townspeople closer together.

As for the township of New Ryndall, little remains but a small bunny hutch and a shimmering portal. When asked for comment, the Cute & Adorable Bunnies just gnawed on some carrots.

Darren the Dull Deity

A small group of Inn Zombies were treated to a special visit from a new minor-god. However, Darren of Admin's shiny eyes attracted an abundance of adventurers from their battles and they hurriedly flocked to the scene resulting another overcrowded event at Jeffrey's Inn.

After the din of Valornians remarking: "Is that your hand on my leg or mine?", "Who's stepping on my cloak?!", and "The Meteors might shower, but I don't think Lanzerious does" died down, the lesser god spoke freely with those gathered.

Darren was quick to greet notable adventurers and even quicker to bore them with mindless drivel and uncanny politeness. His dazzling display of dullness delighted many, others... yawned.

Cerberus and Rendotts whispered amongst themselves about the new god's tame nature in comparison to Ben and Selene, whilst the Inn Zombies proved their adept and well practiced eavesdropping abilities to tattle to their new favorite deity.

Darren took their gossiping as insolence and promptly awarded them a recess in the Demon Spider Hatchery in N'rolav. Perhaps his zest will match Zarock's yet.

Cerberus stumbled back into Dundee a short while thereafter still donning the "Smite Me" sign on his back. Utterly at peace, Rendotts The Holy took it as penance for his actions and promptly went to sleep.

Warzheimior's

Is the stereotype of the big, dumb warrior a reality?

Yep. They're stupid. And big.

Un Arôme de Fleur

Ixon Fier's Thoughts from a soldier is a sporadic collection of one man's inner turmoil and troubled past. Beautifully crafted entries with careful use of meter, form, scansion, and syntax invoke free rhyme which enhances rather than detracts from the overall impression.

The obvious literary skill is, however, overpowered by the belief and the passion expressed so clearly within the lines. It is rare to find something special, rarer still to find work that touches your very soul, as this indeed will.
