Gaining the Edge into Guilds

As the competition to gain induction into the best guilds in Valorn becomes more competitive, new adventurers find themselves pondering how to best fill out their resumes to catch the eye of a Guild Admissions Officer.

Too often has an introvertive initiate arrived at an interview blubbering as his application is being reviewed by his prospective guild. "And what clubs are you a member of?" the Guild Admissions Officer asks.

"uh..."

"You mean to say you weren't ever treasurer of the Holy Order of Light? Never a Vice President of your class at the Enchanter's Academy? For admin's sake, I don't see where you listed your stint as a serving wench at Cerbie's! You didn't even earn a single merit badge as a Wayfarer Scout! You never once wrote an editorial for the Shrouded Sun?!'

"no... not really..."

"So what have you done with all your time? You don't even have a thank you list for everyone that gave you a potion, blessed you, bestowed nobility upon you, or looked pleasantly in your general direction in your profile."

"Well... I killed a lot of evil... defeated Balthazar single handedly... helped 206 newbs acclamate to life in Valorn... gave away over 45,000 platinum to charity, and have reach level 51 with 23,301% progress to the next, while waiting for the level maximum to increase."

"That hardly sounds like a well rounded applicant at all... you're not even part Glacial Gnome! The gods don't even think you're annoying! APPLICATION DENIED!"

So, future warriors of the world, devout clerics of light, rambunctious rogues, and endeavoring enchanters do not walk the fallow plains of leveling. If you truly wish to make a name for yourself, stay in the Inns, burden all with your nuisance, and join every clique, cult, and sect that you can. For only then will your name be revered throughout ages; you will be remembered as a true idle for all aspiring initiates to exalt.
